[edit] Hi there
I was just wondering, are you the same Francis Hoar mentioned in the article? xC | ☎ 15:12, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- (PS - you can reply on this page or on my talk page)
[edit] Yes
I hope that, notwithstanding that Frank was my grandfather, the material stands for its historic accuracy. I will add sources in due course but the websites are a start.
- OK, adding sources will make the article verifiable. You might also want to read up on what are considered reliable sources.
- By the way, you can sign your posts on talk pages (and are supposed to, for identification) using four tildes (~~~~). Wish you all the best,xC | ☎ 15:26, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the COI tag, as your explanation and addition of references seems adequate rebuttal of the accusation, and its a decent enough article. But I'm not sure you need to list all his grandchildren just to get your name on Wikipedia! Regards, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 14:10, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hey there
I noticed this edit. Although I'm sure it genuinely must be in your family's possession, do we have any other reliable source to back up that claim? If its possible to give us some link, newspaper ref, anything of the sort which can establish the same, it would be better in terms of WP:V.
Keep up the great work, the article's progressing really well!
Happy editing,xC | ☎ 17:56, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] William Tyndale
I added the photo of William Tyndale to the article Tyndall. Let me know if you have any questions. Glad I could help.Brian0324 (talk) 16:33, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:Tyndale arms-1-.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Tyndale Arms-1-.jpg. The copy called Image:Tyndale Arms-1-.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 12:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Tyndall image
A few things:
- The image had a very restrictive license ("may not be downloaded, copied, reproduced, transmitted, stored, sold or distributed without the prior written consent of the copyright holder") and could have been speedily deleted under CSD I3.
- The user was given fair warning, seven days before the deletion.
- I'm one of only three admins left who work with images, and given that I handle almost 20,000 of them a week, it's completely unfeasible to run around putting notices on all relevant talk pages and interested WikiProjects while putting the backlog on hold.

- Yes, it's good - and I appreciate the work you're doing. If the copyright holder has licensed it under Creative Commons, could you get them to send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org stating this? The image may otherwise be deleted as a potential copyright violation. east.718 at 19:13, January 21, 2008
