Frantonla is a retired anthropologist/sociologist spending his retirement years travelling the world as frequently and as long as he can affort to. In the mean time, his home for most of the year is in Costa Rica.

His travels today are to compensate for the lack of intensive attention to detail when he was a youngster, working on ships and airplanes to make a living. Working as a steward with a Canadian airliner allowed him time enough to study at a Canadian university and obtain his degrees.

Frantonla was born in the Netherlands, lived in South Africa, Belgium, Germany, Canada and Cost Rica.

The only continent not visited is Antartica.

He has family living in all continents, except Antartica and South America.
