Dear fellow Wikipedians,
Having studied English and American Literature (MA cum laude, 1988) along with Comparative Literature (French and Russian) at the University of Amsterdam (NL) and Exeter University (Devon, England), I joined Voluntary Service Overseas and was posted to Indonesia, where I've been working as an English Lecturer/Teacher Trainer and trilingual translator for 12 years. I've contributed to Wikipedia entries in English (Meher Baba, AmLit, American crooners) and Dutch (Meher Baba, the Persian poet Hafiz, Christopher Walken, rock music, notorious corsairs). The Dutch article on Meher Baba could not have been researched and written without the encouragement and input of the eminent American Wikipedian Cott12, and it was a tribute to our co-operation and friendship to see that red star (featured article) appear at the top. Thanks, Chris!
I live in West Java, Indonesia with my Javanese wife Widiyastutik and two children, Bella and Alex. I teach TOEFL Preparation and Conversation for International Relations classes at a leading private university. There's still Wiki-work to be done, for no Floridian mums have been spotted saying, "Help! My son the Wikipedian is drowning...". Don't Worry, Be Happy!
