[edit] Needs sources
This article badly needs verifiable sources. Amcfreely 04:33, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
I added a picture I shot with my friend's cell phone from my school bus. --Phantom784 21:16, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
I remove the paragraph about teacher favoritism, since it has no references. Not a huge surprise that there is teacher favoritism, it happens everywhere. If there was a cite to a published interview, it should be posted. JSBillings 18:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
I can't find any evidence that Robert Duffy was indicted of anything, nothing on WPXI's web site lists a report. You'd think this would be big news? http://search.wpxi.com/query.html?la=en&qt=duffy JSBillings 13:36, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the reference to the charges against Duffy, since I still haven't found any evidence they exist. JSBillings 11:50, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- There were no charges against him. He's obnoxious, but not a criminal. ryright 16:31, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Trivia
I removed the cache of a dead link [1] because it isn't really something that should be in a encyclopedia entry for Franklin Regional, making this article less NPOV. ex-principal Singer hasn't been principal for 6 years, so this isn't the place to put random trivia. [edit] Reverted edits by 69.40.182.60
I've reverted the edits made by User_talk:69.40.182.60 after looking through this user's edit log. He/She has been vandalizing several sites, including Franklin Regional School District's. It's uncited (much like most of the rest of the info for this page) and most likely boring vandalism. JSBillings 17:50, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability guidelines
I am sure there a lot of people who have webpages or newspaper articles that mention their minor achievements. However, the fact that someone has done something doesn't make them notable. In terms of the athletes, the secondary sources say they were drafted - not that they played - which doesn't seem to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Once they've played in the league, I would welcome you to create an article on them or add them as notable alumni. ryright 16:31, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for catching that, I've seen a bunch of non-notable edits from one person (all posts coming from Intel Corporation's web proxy) who must have a lot of information on FR alumni. I'm still not sure if news about draft picks constitutes a secondary source for an athlete. All WP:BIO says is that they need to have played, and I can only assume that being drafted means that you're playing for a league. I guess the definition of play needs to be better defined. Can one play for a team without actually ever playing a game? The Oed has a definition for both. -- JSBillings 12:24, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Winning the State championships
This event is certainly notable for this article. Now it would be inappropriate to place it in the main Pennsylvania article but it is fine here because it is sourced and it is about the only school in this district. See Westfield High School (Fairfax County, Virginia)#Athletics for a good example of an athletics section in a high school. T Rex | talk 03:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unreferenced information in extracurricular activities
If anyone knows a good source to reference for all these extracurricular activities, please post them, otherwise I'll clean up that section and leave only the information with references. -- JSBillings 11:46, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Removed the unreferenced information. -- JSBillings 13:21, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Is a "... in the news" section just an excuse for trivia or miscelanea?
I see that the news section has been deleted and re-added. I have to wonder if it's really appropriate for this kind of article. Read more about trivia at the Wikipedia:Trivia sections article. -- JSBillings 22:50, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
