Why is Goebel's assasination persistently noted? I can think of many more significant facts to include... anyone game?

[edit] picture?

can someone fix the picture? I don't know how.

[edit] Copyright vio?

The history portion was taken word for word from Frankfort's web site, http://www.cityoffrankfortky.com/co/history.htm. That section needs to be reworded and NPOV. --Tubutler 16:53, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Who?

From the article: "Holmes offered the state several town lots, building materials and the rents from a tobacco warehouse to gain the recommendation of Frankfort as the location of Kentucky’s capital."

Who? There is no explanation of who this person is.

[edit] Copyvio

I have removed the history section. It is not a word for word copyvio exactly, it's been rephrased, but every sentence is pretty much the same. Weird! Since it was so old I couldn't get it out of the history with deleting most of this article's history. I have added the "expand section" request - it needs to be written from scratch. --W.marsh 21:36, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Goebel

Goebel remains the only U.S. state governor to be assassinated while in office, a piece of trivia which may merit inclusion of this event. However, by no means do I suggest that Goebel should be more than the proverbial footnote.

I put the bit on about Gov. Goebel when wikipedia was in its infancy. That was my best attempt at adding relevant information on the site. I hope, in the future, to add relevant information in the appropriate format.

[edit] Needs attention

Apparently, the History section has remained CopyVio for months. A lot of the other sections are stubbed in. The making of a good article is here, and being that this is the state capital we're talking about, surely we can get it cleaned up a little. Acdixon 20:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photograph Request

I have several digital images of Frankfort (the old capitol building, Shelby Street, St. Clair Street, etc.) that would contribute to this article. However, I can not determine how to verify their copyright status if they are no longer found on the internet after extensive searching. I seem to recall picking them up from a user gallery (no copyright mentioned) in 2005. I have also read the pages on Copyright, Fair Use, and other subjects, but wanted this specifically clarified for images that can no longer be sourced but would not appear to fall under a legal copyright. Is there any way to use these images fairly and legally (such as with a Good Faith tag) or must they be left out to be on the safe side? Thank you for the assistance. [edit] Vandalism

Someone may want to remove the coment "It suxx" from the end of the climate section.
