Talk:Frank Rosenthal

I question the neutrality of the article. The information seems based on the movie "Casino", based in turn on Rosenthal's self-flattering profile. For example, it asserts McGee "stole" Rosenthal's savings. It isn't stealing if his wife uses her key to the safe deposit box!

My understanding is Rosenthal had criminal convictions plea bargained from charges of fixing a college basketball game. Consequently he could never be licensed to run a casino or sportsbook. My Vegas industry contacts tell me he was never respected as a handicapper either. The old foof sells his picks at his website with no evidence they ever won. Why would a successful handicapper at his age need to sell picks?

Please modify the article to reflect Lefty was a criminal and hoodlum, not a real handicapper nor a talented business manager. I don't want people to believe the movie "Casino" and buy picks from this retired mobster. He doesn't deserve the money and he certainly doesn't deserve respect.

Is there a source for the Supreme Court / 5th Amendment story? It seems to me highly unlikely to be true since witnesses don't testify in front of the court. Maybe he did this at trial?

Read "Casino"

[edit] Mug shot

I went out and loaded a new version of Rosenthal's mug shot, which is larger than the one that was on here.

[edit] Adopted??

This guy wasn't adopted from Sweedes. What a laugh.

== Someone needs to check the information on this page. It states that he was married to Bea Arthur, who died. And that his casinos were run by the Teletubbies. I don't know what the correct information should be, but not this.

No where, is it noted, that prior to his marriage to Geri, Lefty was married to a Roberta Feiner who was from Miami Beach, FL. They married (later annulled) when Roberta was seventeen (17) years of age and lived for a brief period in a small townhouse in the Sans Souci area, just off of Northeast 125th St. ==
