[edit] Inconsistent/incorrectly executed references

There are two separate sections of references on this article. The second is beautiful, perfectly executed, doesn't need a lick of work on it. The first, on the other hand, is poorly executed, does not even come close to corresponding to Wikipedia rules for citations, and needs desperately upon cleanup to be merged with the second series of references. Whomever did the references at the bottom of the article, bravo, congratulations, thank you. The person who did the first set of references should seriously learn how to do references in the first place, and secondly look up Wikipedia's rules on referencing, because dude, that is seriously messed up work. • I communicated with the other editor, who was not aware of the style of reference that I was using previously. Several of my <ref></ref> references were deleted, and the additional References section was added. I'm going to try to rework the article today. — Bellhalla 11:42, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
    • Had some internet issues, but completed the article revamp today. I deleted a fair amount of seemingly copyvio material, some of which seemed non-encyclopedic (like how much Madla loved his granddaughter). Also went through and weeded out some duplicated references. — Bellhalla 15:14, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
      • Excellent! Thanks for all your hard work. (Krushsister 03:30, 28 February 2007 (UTC))

[edit] More information?

Beyond the tragic fire, this article could benefit (in terms of completeness and in memory) from more general information about Senator Madla's political career and public life. Things like legislative highlights (think: his wine legislation) would be appropriate here. Also a photo? Thoughts anyone? • I think the one editor here who has proven himself/herself most apt and able to provide a fuller, richer, more in-depth article for Madla is user Bellhalla, who has apparently done all of the good edits on the article. He/she must be very busy at the moment, but hopefully he/she will come back, do some much-needed article cleanup, and write the text that you desire. (Krushsister 20:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC))
    • Thank you for you kind words. And, yes, I have been busy. In regards to the photo, I didn't find any that were obviously public domain. The Texas Senate has several that would be appropriate but require permission. I'll try to work on that on 18 DecemberBellhalla 11:39, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
      • Hopefully you'll be able to find a usable photo. Have you tried contacting some of the people who've taken photos of the late state senator? If so, what have they told you about using some of the photos they haven't used before for one reason or another? I'm sure there must be some photos out there you can find that are usable.
