I find the following sentence inaccurate: "The warlike native peoples soon clashed with the disruptive Spanish settlers....." The Yuma were friendly until the Spanish burned the Yuma food crops, kicked the Yuma off the fertile land, and several Yuma girls were raped by Spanish soldiers. Only after Spanish authority refused to punish the rapists did the two Yuma headmen turn to violence. The Yuma bitterly grieved over the death of Garces. --Desertphile (talk) 03:35, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
