[edit] Paid by the square foot...

According to the source I have, (Encyclopedia of Artists, the sole entry in the sources section) we do know. Page 16, column 3 says:

Soon after completeing the frescos, Cossa left Ferrara in disgust. He had been paid by the square foot for his work and now complained in a letter to Borso d'Este that he deserved a higher reward for his labors, pointing out that he was being treated on par with the "worst dauber in Ferrara."

[edit] Which National Gallery?

"In the National Gallery there is a picture by him representing St. Vincent Ferrer, an "Annunciation", ..."

To which of the many national galleries does this refer? >>sparkit|TALK<< 05:28, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
