[edit] De-stubbed, but would benefit from expansion

I removed the stub tag from this article as it seems too long to count as a stub and because it covers, albeit briefly, much of what one would expect to see in such an article. Nevertheless there seem to be three areas where it would especially benefit from expansion:

  • We have nothing on his personal life. (Biographies are, after all, about people.)
  • The period between 1833 (when he is a prisoner and enemy of the state) and 1848 (when he becomes a minister) is currently not covered at all.
  • We need something on his literary reputation and influence.
