IMO, this article and the article "The Tombalbaye Regime" should be merged. Thoughts? Josh (talk) 20:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Josh, the one you pose is a good question, I've long been thinking about it. The only problem is that the era of Chadian history 1960-75 and his biography don't completely coincide (as wouldn't a biog of Bush and the 8 year of American history during his presidency), even if there is a considerable overlapping due to the personalism of his rule.--Aldux (talk) 15:16, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- I believe that pre-independence period of his bio should be considerably expanded and the text split into chapters. There should be many interesting details of his political struggles during ascent to PPT presidency and eleminating his competitors afterwards. After such an expansion I believe no one would want to merge these articles. Verdi1 (talk) 21:14, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
It would be better to title the article as "Ngarta Tombalbaye", considering that he discarded the name François. Everyking (talk) 03:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's a question I've posed myself, but I ended to discard it on the ground that most scholarship in the tiny field of Chadian studies by far prefers "François", and so as the most commonly used name, even after his death, I've kept it there.--Aldux (talk) 22:42, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
