[edit] The Glass Jar Hand
In Jacks flash back on the eve of the year 2000 the Doctors hand in the jar is seen. This is a huge plot hole for the time line isnt it considering the hand was ervered in the Christmas 2006 special. Can anyone confirm and note this in continuity? 68.226.119.187 (talk) 01:43, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops just rewatched it thats just the same glass jar he used for the hand but does not contain the head. Sorry. 68.226.119.187 (talk) 01:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Head or hand? Mgcady (talk) 20:54, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Flashbacks
I do intend on filling out all of the flashbacks- Mgcady (talk)
- Please be consice and keep the total plot under 500 words. — Edokter • Talk • 23:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, just spent some time pruning the plot, and getting the entire thing under 500 words is rather difficult since each flashback is an individual story unto itself. DonQuixote (talk) 19:21, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Synopsis
Who ever wrote the synopsis, please look up what a synopsis is first. This page should be edited as it looks like a script. A synopsis should be short and brief. 82.43.137.216 (talk) 11:22, 28 March 2008 (UTC)UnsungUser
- Someone will probably come along and slap it with a "plot too long" tag, which will eventually be followed by someone else coming along and pruning the plot section. At least, that's what's been happening the past couple of months. Someone should probably write, or point to, a guideline about the differences between plot descriptions and scene descriptions--for example, character development can probably go under "Continuity" rather than plot, etc. DonQuixote (talk) 13:52, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Continuity
Is the New Year's Eve, 1999 setting in Jack's flashback a reference to Doctor Who (1996 film)? 90.198.228.91 (talk) 22:25, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- No, it's probably used because it so close to the 21st century- where "it all changes". --OZOO 22:29, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Guppy
Which character is Alice Guppy? Whoever she is, would it be Original Research to call her surname a reference to Burn Gorman's role in Bleak House? U-Mos (talk) 14:37, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think Alice Guppy is the blond Torchwood officer from the Victorian era. Vladess (talk) 11:01, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Doctor's hand
Can the fact that the Doctor's hand was clearly visible in Owen's flashback (set four years prior to the present) be called a continuity error (as the Doctor lost his hand barely two years ago). U-Mos (talk) 14:37, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, that's covered above. But I was pretty sure I saw the (or at least a) hand in the jar. U-Mos (talk) 14:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, there's two jars, one has something in it and the other doesn't, but neither contain a hand. Still, I feel that's worth a mention. U-Mos (talk) 14:59, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Another continuity point
If Jack was recruited circa 1907, where on earth was he during To the Last Man's 1914? They even looked at pictures from the team back then, and he was nowhere to be seen. U-Mos (talk) 17:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Doesn't Jack say in Utopia that he fought in WW1? He could have just been out of the country. 91.105.184.243 (talk) 10:29, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Role of the young female fortune teller from "Dead Man Walking"
We now know why Jack knew her - he had met her then. What is not explained is who she is or why she does not age.
I also think she already had the card showing Jack in black armour, implying she already knows him. It's not clear whether or not he knows her.
There would be some logic to this if she is the girl revived by the glove, she is neither alive nor dead and would not age. It would also make sense if Jack somehow visited her then. He could give her a message to pass on to his earlier self.
Do people agree with this? --GwydionM (talk) 17:40, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- How do you mean "a message for his earlier self"?. She lives for centuries, she can't travel in time.--Vladess (talk) 23:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I would assume she is the little girl called 'faith'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.87.166.229 (talk) 08:08, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
