From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts is located in downtown Muskegon in the U.S. state of Michigan.
It houses the historic Frauenthal Theater, the Beardsley Theater, Clark-Cannon Gallery, several meeting rooms, and two rehearsal halls.
The West Shore Symphony Orchestra plays here. The Miss Michigan pageant and Muskegon Community Concert Association performances also take place here. The annual Muskegon Film Festival is held in February.
Concerts, movies, and other events are held throughout the calendar year. The Miss Michigan scholarship pageant is held every June in the Frauenthal Theater.
The Frauenthal was built in 1929 as the Michigan Theater. It was purchased by a community foundation and renamed in honor of A. Harold Frauenthal, who provided a gift to purchase the theater and adjacent buildings.
The City Café, an American and European bistro, is located in the lower lobby of the center [1].
It is owned and operated by the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.
