The eighth season of Frasier was a 24 episode season, that ran from October 2000 to May 2001, beginning on 24 October 2000.

Niles and Daphne tell Mel and Donny that they are in love. Daphne cannot marry Donny and Niles and Mel have to divorce. Niles and Daphne escape Daphne's wedding in Martin's Winnebago.
170 - 802 October 24, 2000 172 "And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon Part II"
Mel forbids Niles from being seen in public with Daphne, who begins to regret running off with him. After seeing the result of his actions, Frasier vows not to meddle in anyone's problems again.

Frasier convinces Martin to meet with the manageress of a retirement home so that he can ask her on a date, whilst Daphne and Niles plan to watch a meteor shower, until he gets trapped in a stairwell.

Frasier begins mentoring the new station owner in order to teach him about culture. When the owner decorates his apartment, instead of developing his own style, he simply copies Frasier's.

Frasier employs a butler since Daphne will no longer be working as the Cranes' housekeeper. A party Frasier throws for the Opera Board goes awry when Daphne begins to think Niles will not leave Mel.

Frasier hires a high-priced lawyer to fight his case against Donny, but Donny drops the lawsuit soon after. Daphne fears that Donny may be on the rebound when she learns that he is engaged.

Frasier becomes friends with Roz's new boyfriend. When she ends the relationship, Frasier continues to see his friend in secret.

Frasier tries to charm a local morning TV host into letting him co-host the Christmas Parade. His plan works until she falls ill and Frasier learns that his new partner will be Dr Mary.

Frasier receives the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Seattle Broadcasting Awards. When his Harvard mentor congratulates him, Frasier reads too much into it and begins to doubt his own achievements. Daphne has begun putting on weight, a fact which is apparent to everyone but Niles.

Frasier takes a trip to the woods with his father and son in order to do some bonding, but he realises he's not as close to Frederick as he thought.
179 - 811 January 30, 2001 179 "Motor Skills"
Frasier and Niles enroll in a car repair night class, but soon realise their ineptitude and end up as the remedial students. Martin lends a hand in taking care of Roz's new puppy, but begins to criticise her efforts.

Frasier and Niles encourage an old actor whom they idolised as children to return to the stage, but it turns out that he is not as good as they remembered.

Frasier asks Roz's advice on whether to wear a suit or a sweater, aware of the consequences that even the smallest decision can have. Both scenarios play out and the consequences of each decision are revealed.
182 - 814 February 20, 2001 180 "Hungry Heart"
Kenny accidentally makes a date with a woman, even though he is married. Before Frasier can go to sort out the mistake for him, Kenny's wife finds out and replaces the date at the restaurant. Unaware of this, Frasier ends up asking her out. Niles finally realises that Daphne has been gaining weight.

Frasier and Niles agree to go to a basketball game with their father. At half time, Niles is randomly selected to make a half-court shot and makes it. He becomes a hero to the town and to his father, much to Frasier's annoyance.
184 - 816 March 6, 2001 184 "Docu. Drama"
Roz produces a radio documentary on outer space and allows Frasier to narrate. However, unaccustomed to being told what to do, he begins making criticisms of her work and eventually leaves the show. Roz replaces him with the astronaut John Glenn.
185 - 817 March 27, 2001 185 "It Takes Two to Tangle"
Frasier and Niles's prep school is due to be closed due to lack of funds, so they throw a party to get donations from wealthy socialites. Martin hits it off with a wealthy trustee, Penelope, whom he begins dating. At the same time, he has started seeing another woman, and Frasier and Niles fear that Penelope will discover this before she donates to their cause.
186 - 818 April 17, 2001 186 "Forgotten But Not Gone"
Niles takes the title of Corkmaster of the Wine Club, and Frasier resigns to take up presenting a radio show about wine. Niles is jealous and forbids the clubmembers from calling in.
187 - 819 May 1, 2001 187 "Daphne Returns"
Daphne returns from her weight-loss spa and Niles is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to consummate their relationship. However, Daphne has learnt from a therapist that her weight gain was due to her fear of not living up to Niles's expectations. When he dismisses her fears as unfounded, she throws him out, causing him to rethink his attitude.
188 - 820 May 8, 2001 192 "The Wizard and Roz"
Daphne is upset that Niles does not believe that she is psychic, so they hire an evaluator to test her abilities scientifically. Roz begins dating Frasier's Harvard mentor, Dr Tewkesbury, which causes Frasier problems.
189 - 821 May 15, 2001 188 "Semi-Decent Proposal"
At a party for his ex-girlfriend, Lana, Frasier meets what seems to be the perfect woman for him. Lana agrees to set them up, but only on the condition that he mentors her son, Kirby.

Frasier's study sessions with Kirby aren't going well as Kirby has recently broken up with his girlfriend. To encourage him, Frasier promises that Roz will be Kirby's prom date if he does well.

Frasier helps Lana sell a house while Martin goes to the parole hearing of the man who shot him. Niles begins to get jealous when Daphne, while walking Eddie, spends time in the park with another man.
192 - 824 May 22, 2001 190 "Cranes Go Caribbean"
Frasier plans a romantic getaway with Claire, but is distracted when Lana suggests to him that he doesn't know how to be happy.
