Franz Völker

Franz Völker (born March 31, 1899 in Neu-Isenburg, Germany; died December 4, 1965 in Darmstadt, Germany) was an operatic heldentenor.
He was discovered by the conductor Clemens Krauss and he studied singing at Frankfurt, where he made his début as Florestan in Beethoven's Fidelio in 1926. Other roles included Lohengrin, Otello, Siegmund in Wagner's Die Walküre, and Max in Weber's Der Freischütz. He performed regularly at the Salzburg Festival and the Bayreuth Festival.
