Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame

The Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame is located in Royston, Georgia and is housed within the Ty Cobb Museum. The museum and Hall of Fame were opened on July 17, 1998. The four charter members were announced on that day, with some in attendance. The charter inductees were Tyrus Raymond Cobb, 1943 A.L. MVP Spud Chandler, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl lineman Tony Jones, and All-American quarterback Dee Dowis. All of these members were native to Franklin County, Georgia, the majority being from the city of Royston, Georgia.
