Franklin, California

Franklin, California is a small town about 2 miles south of Elk Grove. The town was named after the Franklin Hotel which has been gone for many years.

The only businesses that run the town are The Franklin Restaurant, King's Skate Country, and Gil's Bar and Store. Franklin is not far from the bigger businesses in Elk Grove.

There is a cemetery right in front of Franklin Elementary School that is the final resting place of many settlers of not only Sacramento but from all over California. Its most famous gravesite being of Alexander Hamilton Willard who was a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The gravesite is California Historical Landmark #657.
