Frank Schmökel was a German serial killer. After arrest on suspicion of serial murder, rape and child molestation, he escaped custody in a mental institution on October 25, 2000. He was allowed a visit to his sick mother, but acquired a knife, stabbed his mother and two wardens, one fatally, and fled, murdering another person for their car. He was re-apprehended in Großdubrau near Bautzen, East Saxony on November 6.[1]
