Frank Rost (born 30 June 1973) is a German professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Hamburger SV.

Rost was born in Karl Marx Stadt (Chemnitz), Saxony. He comes from a famous family background; his father Peter won a gold medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in handball, and his mother Christina, also a handball player, won the silver at the 1976 Summer Olympics and bronze at the 1980 Games.

Rost was signed from Werder Bremen in 2002, and has three caps with Germany, making his debut against the United States in 2002.

Apart from Jens Lehmann, Rost is the only keeper to score from open play, when he scored on 31 March 2002 against Hansa Rostock.

After losing his starting position at Schalke 04 to rising star Manuel Neuer in late 2006, and because of discrepancies with the management and the coach, Rost was transferred to Hamburger SV on January 5, 2007, where he currently is the first choice keeper.
