Frank James Edgar (born October 16, 1981) is a mixed martial arts fighter from Toms River, New Jersey.
Edgar wrestled at Toms River High School East, making it to the New Jersey state championship tournament on two occasions. He continued wrestling at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where he qualified for the nationals all four years there.[1]
Edgar has one loss in his mixed martial arts career, which includes a unanimous decision win over Tyson Griffin in his debut UFC fight at UFC 67. In his UFC debut, his excellent boxing and wrestling skills combined with his refusal to tap out during a particularly deep knee bar allowed him to defeat the exceptionally strong Tyson Griffin in a close decision. Edgar's last fight on PPV was against American fighter Spencer Fisher at UFC 78, whom he defeated via Unanimous Decision. On April 2, 2008 Edgar lost by unanimous decision to Gray Maynard.
Edgar is also an assistant coach for the Rutgers University wrestling team.
