Frank Doran (aikido)

Frank Doran is a aikido teacher in the United States, chief instructor of Aikido West in Redwood City, California. His current rank is 7th dan shihan from the Aikikai. A former U.S. Marine Corps hand-to-hand combat instructor with experience in Judo, Doran began studying aikido in 1959 while in the military, stationed in San Diego, California. He later went to the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Japan to train under Koichi Tohei.
Doran is head of Division 2 of the California Aikido Association.
