Frank Don (born October 11, 1947, Putnam, Connecticut) is a professional astrologer and published author of the books Earth Changes Ahead, Color Magic and Color Your World.
Don was educated at Choate School, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. and New York University with a MBA.
During his graduate studies, Frank also studied astrology, studying with Zoltan Mason in New York, Isidore Friedman in Brooklyn and with the Astrological Faculty of Studies in London, England. Frank also studied the teachings of the Greeks, Egyptians, the Qabalah, Rudolf Steiner's Anthroposphy and Alfred Korzybski's works on semantics, and the works of George Gurdjieff among other teachings and philosophies.
In the early 1970's, Frank was a member of the Arica Institute in New York, trained in Arica III and became a teacher in the New York facility working with Oscar Ichazo and his introduction to the west of the Enneagram psychological system.
In the mid-1970's, Frank was involved in property development in the Orlando area of Orange County, Florida and the Naples area of Collier County, Florida.
In the 1970's, Frank began his professional astrology practice and based his practice in Westport, Connecticut. Frank taught astrology and other related areas of self-development through the Continuing Education Departments of Bridgeport University and Norwalk Community College and also taught classes at the Albertson Memorial Church. He wrote the nationally-syndicated newspaper column 'Star Gaze'.
Frank wrote the book Color Your World, a seminal book on the psychology of color, published initially in 1977 by Warner Destiny Books, later reprinted by Inner Traditions and currently available through iUniverse. His work on color is included in the Faber Birren Collection of Color housed at the Art and Architecture Library of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and at the Royal College of Art in London, England.
In 1981, Frank's book Earth Changes Ahead was published. Treating the geophysical, atmospheric and climatological changes challenging the stasis of humankind, this title was recommended as reading for a course on catastrophic geology at Drexel University in Philadelphia, and was commended on a program sponsored by the Los Angeles Federation of Scientists.
In the early 1980's, Frank was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Albertson Memorial Church in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, where he taught classes, frequently gave the Sunday Sermon and presided over the Sunday Service and was invited to serve as Associate Minister.
In the mid-1980's, Frank started Quintile Productions, Inc., a Stamford, Connecticut based audio production company. Among the Quintile Productions library were works by spiritual teachers Alan Watts, Manly Palmer Hall, and various self-help tapes one of which included Frank's own spoken audio production of Divine Design.
As President and CEO, Frank developed and oversaw the expansion of Quintile Productions into a retail outlet, a catalog mail-order company and a workshop center that over five years sponsored more than one thousand workshops by leaders in the human potential movement. He maintained his professional astrology practice in Westport and Greenwich, Connecticut, and Malibu, California.
In the mid-1990's, Frank was involved in a major auto accident that left him partially paralyzed. Quintile closed and Frank spent a year in recovery and rehabilitation working with both conventional medicine and physical therapists and complementary practitioners that included many modalities of alternative therapy. After a year, Frank recovered fully and was given a 'gold star' by the orthopedic surgeon and physical therapists for 'coming back from the dead'.[citation needed]
After his recovery, Frank returned to his professional practice in astrology in Greenwich and also opened his practice in Santa Barbara, California. He also hosted a weekly radio program on WALE in Providence, Rhode Island.
Concerned about the future of the country, Frank was determined to do something and decided to run for the U.S. House of Representatives. Believing that neither major political party offered solutions to problems facing the country and disparaging of the two major political party system, Frank chose to run as a petition candidate and secured the necessary signatures to appear on the November 2000 election ballot for election to the US House of Representatives from the 4th Congressional District in Connecticut. His campaign focused on the idea of 'brighter days through better ways' and emphasized a common sense approach to addressing the nation's problems.
In various seminars and through his writings, he has made various accurate predictions, including the eruption of Mt St. Helens,[citation needed] the bursting of the bubble of the Japanese economy,[citation needed] the dotcom implosion,[citation needed] the advent of terrorism on US shores,[citation needed] the housing bubble[citation needed] and the increase in power and strength of storm systems with intensified localized fronts.[citation needed]
In 2006-2007, Frank returned to radio, hosting an hour-long program on KRXA out of Monterey, California and streaming live on the Internet.
Based in Monterey County, California, Frank continues his professional astrological practice, serves as a business consultant in the reorganization and revitalization of companies, and continues to travel extensively giving his forecasts of things to come.
