Frank Dellaert is an Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Together with his colleagues Dieter Fox, Sebastian Thrun, and Wolfram Burgard developed the Monte Carlo localization algorithm [1], a probabilistic approach to mobile robot localization that is based on the particle filter.
