Francois Stamos (born April 4, 1986) is the son[citation needed] of long time soap and sitcom actor and musician, John Stamos[1], who is most notable for his portrayal of Uncle Jesse on the long running ABC sitcom, Full House. Raised mainly by his mother, Bridget Matz (an old ex-girlfriend of Stamos'),[citation needed] Francois followed his father's musical footsteps and has participated in live musical performances with and without his father since the age of 9.[citation needed] He was considered by himself and many members of his immediate family to be a musical prodigy.[citation needed]

[edit] Musical career
In 1999, at the age of 13, Francois filled in for David Bryson as back up guitarist for two shows for the Counting Crows on their American tour[2]. In 2002, he released a self-produced single entitled, The Life And Times Of A Rock God, which met with highly mixed reviews.[citation needed] Recently, he has drawn both criticism and acclaim for his band's work alongside Bob Badami and Tom Calderaro[citation needed] in the blockbuster film National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets[3].
[edit] Modeling career
Francois had moderate success as a model for Martha Stuart's K-Mart Everyday collection. He did not start making waves in the modeling world until late 2005 when he was the subject of a controversial two-page spread ad in the New York Times showing a naked Francois covered only by a Gibson electric guitar with the subtitle “Uncle Jesse Touched Me”.[citation needed] Playing on the celebrity of Francois’ father, the ad was misinterpreted by many in the public as a sincere admission of molestation.[citation needed] Francois’ agent apologized for any confusion and Gibson pulled the ads the next day.[citation needed]
[edit] Acting career
Francois has recently become more involved in acting.[citation needed] Citing his work with Nicholas Cage in the 2007 movie National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets[3], Francois announced that he was “inspired beyond words” to begin an acting career.[citation needed] Having only a single uncredited role as an extra alongside his father in ER, Francois is said to be in the running for the part of a young Jim Morrison in View Askew’s up and coming production Closing Doors.[citation needed]
