[edit] Career

[edit] Ceuta & Lorca Deportivo

Maldonado played for Real Betis for four seasons before moving to AD Ceuta and then on to Lorca where he completed successful loan spells.

[edit] Real Betis

During the summer of 2006, Real Betis re-signed Maldonado from Lorca for €62,000. Maldonado chose shirt number 24 due to his love for the television show 24. He also has a Jack Bauer tattoo on his right shin. Maldonado impressed during Betis's summer friendlies and was given a starting place against Valencia CF as a right winger, a direct replacement for Joaquín. Following a promising start that included a fantastic assist against Athletic Bilbao, Maldonado found himself out of favour with newly appointed Betis coach Luis Fernández. He is now one of several Betis players linked with a move away from Seville.
