Francisco Grau

Francisco Grau Vegara (born Bigastro, Alicante in 1947) is a Spanish Musician and Soldier.

The author of more than 700 works and since the 12th October 1997, he has been the official author of the Spanish National Anthem (previously Marcha Granadera). He is also a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, the Real Academia de la Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia and the Academia de San Carlos in Valencia.

By the Order 431/00509/00, he is a Colonel of Music, being the first musician in Spanish military history to hold the position.

Since 1988, he has been the director of music for the Spanish Royal Guard.
