Francisco Freire Allemão e Cysneiro

Francisco Freire Allemão e Cysneiro (1797-1872) was a Brazilian botanist who collected in the northeast of Brazil and in Rio de Janeiro. His association with the Brazilian National Museum in Rio de Janeiro took place at a time when Brazilian botany was dominated by foreigners.

Amng his many duties as physician to the Brazilian court was to fetch the Emperor's bride from Italy.

His abbreviated name for botanical species citations is "Allemão."
