Francis Kenny (cinematographer)

Francis Kenny is an American cinematographer. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the Director of Photography on such films as "Heathers", "New Jack City", "Harriet the Spy", "She's All That", and "Coneheads". Educated at Harvard, Hofstra, and The University of Texas, he started shooting documentaries right out of college. His film "He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin" won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. He currently is on the Board of Governors of The American Society of Cinematographers, Chairman of The American Society of Cinematographers Membership Committee, and the AMPAS Cinematographers Executive Committee. Francis Kenny lives in Santa Monica with his seven year old daughter, Kate Kenny.
Francis Kenny's grandfather, Herman Adkins, was a test pilot for the U.S. Government.
