Francis Joseph Schenk

Francis Joseph Schenk (1901–1969) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Crookston, Minnesota from 1945 to 1960, and the Bishop of Duluth from 1960 to 1969.
Schenk was born in Superior, Wisconsin on April 1, 1901. He became a priest of Saint Paul, Minnesota on June 13, 1926. On March 10, 1945, he was appointed Bishop of Crookston, succeeding John Hubert Peschges, and was ordained on May 24. He remained at Crookston for 15 years before becoming the Bishop of Duluth on January 27, 1960, succeeding Thomas Anthony Welch. He retired on April 30, 1969 at the age of 68, and died later that year on October 28.
