Francis Hoover was the eighth head fooball coach and seventh basketball coach for the Appalachian State Mountaineers located in the town of Boone in Watauga County, North Carolina. While only coaching one football season, Hoover coached the men's basketball team for eleven seasons capturing two North State Conference championships.
