From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Francisca ("Francis") Hoenselaar (born January 15, 1965 in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland) is a professional darts player from the Netherlands, who is nicknamed The Dutch Crown. She won the Dutch title thirtheen times. Twice she became European Champion, and for three years she was the number one in the world rankings. Trina Gulliver is her main rival, and has got the better of her in five World Championship finals (Trina was unbeaten at the World Championship until 2008), although Francis has never beaten veteran Crissy Manley in their sixteen competitive matches. She entered the 2008 World Championship as the number one seed and yet another final with Trina Gulliver looked on the cards. However, Hoenselaar was beaten in the first round by qualifier Stephanie Smee.
