Francis Hime (Rio de Janeiro, August 31, 1939) is a composer, arranger, pianist and singer from Brazil.

Francis Hime began his piano studies when he was six-years-old. In 1955, he moved to Lausanne, Switzerland to study music, where he stayed until 1959. Back to Brazil, Francis started to develop a friendship with some of the artists who were part of the already consolidated bossa nova movement, such as Vinícius de Moraes, Carlos Lyra, Baden Powell, Edu Lobo, Dori Caymmi, Wanda Sá and Marcos Valle.

In 1969, Francis graduated from the Engineer School and got married to the singer and lyricist Olivia Hime. In that same year, Francis moved to the United States, where he continued his music studies for another four years.

Francis Hime has more than fifteen released albums and dvds. He has hundreds of songs composed along with Vinícius de Moraes, Toquinho, Dias Gomes, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Paulinho da Viola, Ruy Guerra, Paulo César Pinheiro, Ivan Lins, Victor Martins, Cacaso, Capinan and others. We can highlight those songs composed along with Chico Buarque, his main music partner.

Francis is currently accompanied by musicians Diego Zangado (drums), Jorge Helder (bass) and Gabriel Improta (guitar)
