Francis A. Waller was a corporal in the Sixth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry of the Union Army who was awarded the Medal of Honor. On 01 July 1863 while participating in the Battle of Gettysburg, he engaged a confederate soldier in single combat, killing him and seizing his battle flag.
He is buried in Walnut Mound Cemetery Retreat, Wisconsin.[1]
