Frances O'Connor (born 12 June 1967) is an Australian actress.

[edit] Early life
O'Connor was born in Wantage, Oxfordshire, England to a pianist mother and nuclear physicist father.[1] At two years of age she moved to Perth, Western Australia. O'Connor was raised a Roman Catholic[2] and attended the Mercedes College in Perth, but considers Melbourne her home. O'Connor attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts as well as earned a BA in literature from the Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia.
Her long-term partner is Gerald Lepkowski, and O'Connor gave birth to the couple's first child, Luka, in April 2005.
