Frances Erskine Inglis,(Edinbourgh,1804-Madrid,1882), marquess of Calderón de la Barca.
She lived in the United States when in 1836 arrived there, sent by Isabel II , Ángel Calderón de la Barca, whom she married in 1838.
They lived in México until 1842. She widowed in 1861; in 1876 Alfonso XII gave her the title of marquess. She is famous by her book La Vida en México durante una residencia de dos años en este país published in Boston and London in 1843 ; she also wrote El Agregado en Madrid o Bocetos de la Corte de Isabel II (1856).
