Frances Crane
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Frances Crane (1896 – 1981) was an American mystery author.
Frances Crane wrote mystery novels under her own name. Her first novel, in 1941, The Turquoise Shop, introduced Pat Abbott, private investigator, and his soon-to-be-wife Jean. The Abbotts investigated crimes in a total of 26 volumes, each with a colour in the title.[1]
From 1945 to 1947 a radio program, Abbott Mysteries, was based on Crane's characters, and between 1954 and 1955 the radio program Adventures of The Abbotts starred Claudia Morgan and Les Damon as the husband-and-wife crimefighters.
