France Monde

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

France Monde is a parent company proposed to President Nicolas Sarkozy by his audio-visual reform counsellor Georges-Marc Benamou, which would serve to manage the rapprochement between major external French media groups. The three targets of the reform are Radio France Internationale (RFI), France 24, and TV5MONDE. It is expected that the combined funding, plus additional advertising revenue, would total € 400 million. According to members of the reform counsel, France Monde would serve as an alternative to CNN or Al Jazeera[1][2].
