Francisco Javier González Pérez (born 14 July 1969 in Carreira, A Coruña, Galicia), known simply as Fran, is a Spanish former professional who spent his entire career with Deportivo de La Coruña.
A midfielder, Fran is one of the most notable players in Deportivo's history. He arrived at the club in 1988, and made his debut on August 31, 1991. He soon went on to become captain of the squad.
In 1991, Real Madrid almost signed him, but Fran regretted leaving Deportivo and returned quickly. He retired at the end of the 2004/05 season after 17 years at Deportivo.
Fran made his full Spanish debut on 27 January 1993, in total earning 16 caps with the team. He participated at Euro 2000.
