Françoise de Cezelli

Françoise de Cezelli (1558- 1615) french chevalier and war hero. She defeated the spanish army during the battle of Leucate in 1590 (spanish-french war of 1590).

She is considered as one of the first french female war heroes.

The reputation of Francoise de Cezelli is still great in the Languedoc, as many schools and official buildings are still named after her.
