François Marque (born 31th July 1983) is a footballer from France who currently plays as defender in the Swiss Super League for FC Basel.
[edit] Football career
Marque started his career in his native France with amateurs RCS La Chapelle in 2002 where he played 55 games there over the course of 2 seasons. His good performances there caught the eye of Ligue 2 club FC Libourne-Saint-Seurin whom he signed for in 2004. He didn't play any games there and left after just 1 season to join Swiss Challenge Leagueside FC Baulmes in 2005. He impressed at Baulmes and gathered interest from several Swiss Super League teams. After much speculation about his future he joined FC Basel in January 2006. At Basel, he started just two games in his first season but he formed an effective central defensive partnership with Swedish internationalist Daniel Majstorović during the 2007/08 season under Christian Gross.
