Fréjus Tunnel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fréjus Tunnel may refer to one of two tunnels connecting Modane, France with Bardonecchia, Italy under the Col du Fréjus and Mont Cenis in the Cottian Alps:
- the Fréjus Rail Tunnel, also known as the Mont Cenis Tunnel, completed in 1871.
- the Fréjus Road Tunnel, completed in 1980.
Both the rail and the road tunnels are major trans-Alpine transport routes.
