Foxcore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Foxcore is a word coined by Thurston Moore to describe a style of alternative rock.[1] It is associated with riot grrrl, because the bands are all-girl, female-fronted, or are made up mainly of females.

Also, the term foxcore is known to be applied (mostly in the humorous sense) to any genre of music, artist or lyrical themes of which having references to foxes as such. The word was first used in this particular meaning on Last.FM as a tag for the band "Lisitsa Kitsune" (Kitsune the Fox), since some of the songs had lyrics on the subject.
