Fox Township occupies the 6 mile square on the western edge of Kendall County, Illinois.

It is located at 41.596160 N, -88.556926 W. It has 93.68 square kilometers (36.172 square miles) of land and 1.284 square kilometers (0.4961 square miles) covered by water. Its population in the 2000 Census was 1,257. It has 456 housing units. It includes the villages of Millbrook and Millington.

Fox Township was named after the river that bisects the township. The river name is probably a reference to the Fox Tribe, which inhabited southeastern Wisconsin.

The township is governed by an elected Town Board of a Supervisor and four Trustees. The Township also has an elected Assessor, Clerk, Highway Commissioner and Supervisor.
