Fox Lane High School is a public secondary school located in the town of Bedford, New York. It is named after the road, Fox Lane, that begins just to the side of the school's driveway.
There are two assistant principals, Brian Davidson and Robin Schamberg. Asst. Principal Davidson is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school while Asst. Principal Schamberg's responsibilities include overseeing student activities, academic testing and grade reporting, and heading the Learning Resource Team. Both work together closely on school endeavors & projects.
In recent years the school has undergone several renovations; these include the school's commons & theater in 1990, library in 1993, and cafeteria in 1999. Currently, the school is towards the end of a multi-million dollar renovation that began in the summer of 2005. At the beginning of April 2007 the school's brand-new three story building (A wing) that will replace the classrooms in the four original wings opened for use, later, in October 2007, K wing re-opened after extensive renovation and was re-named C wing. The four old wings in the rear of the school (C, D, E, & F) are in the process of being demolished. Wings G & B (from which C, D, E, & F wings once expanded out of like fingers) has been renamed D wing and is partially open for classroom and future office use; the old H wing has also been renamed F wing. The space that wings C, D, E, & F once occupied will eventually become additional parking and there are plans to convert the nearby construction entrance into a full-time entrance and exit. Some of the older parking will be converted to be used for athletics, notably the creation of tennis courts. The entire construction project is expected to be completed by the start of 2008-2009 school year.
