[edit] Tone/Style
I'm currently reworking the style and tone of the article on one of my userpages, so if you make any major changes I'd appreciate knowing about them so I can incorporate them!
Thanks

- Uh, no idea what I was saying there! EVOCATIVEINTRIGUE TALKTOME | EMAILME | IMPROVEME 21:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I've now worked through the article, but it's still not great, so feel free to change it- I'd be interested to see how it develops, though, so leave me a message if you make any major changes!

[edit] Improvements
Here's a few explanations of what I've done.
- I removed this text, simply because I thought it was irrelevant. It could make an interesting stub if not article itself though.
-
- An interesting addition, on Sunday, April 17, 1881, ex-Deputy Marshal Bill Johnson, whom Stoudenmire grabbed the jail keys six days before, was encouraged by his friends to fix his pride and eliminate the sense of terrible humiliation by assassinating Marshal Stoudenmire, his ex-boss.
-
- Johnson agreed and prepared an assassination. Later that night, he waited atop a big pile of bricks in front of newly constructed State National Bank. Johnson sat with his shotgun and waited in the shadow. When he heard two male voices and footsteps approaching nearby, Johnson recognized Stoudenmire's voice. Heavily intoxicated, Johnson tried to stand up, but his wobbly legs gave out and fell. He panicked and accidentally fired two shots into the air. As expected, Stoudenmire didn't ask first, he pulled out his twin pistols and returned fire as the flashes roared and lightened up a dark street. Eight (8) .44 caliber bullets violently torn through Johnson's testicles killing him.
- I tidied the language up, removing the narrative and non-NPOV statements.
- I (hopefully) cleared up the whole article fact-wise, but I was only able to find one major source, here.
- I merged some of the details already in the article, but would not place much weight on them due to the narrative style of the previous version.

[edit] Discussion
To keep the above readable, I'd (politely) request any discussion of this article is left below!
After reading both articles ("Four Dead in Five Seconds Gunfight" and "Dallas Stoudenmire"), I would suggest not merging both articles. Rather, that the Text in the "Four Dead ..." article be shortened to cover only the gunfight itself. The aftermath, which has nothing specific to do with the gunfight should be moved/merged with the Stoudenmire bio. For the material from the "Four Dead ..." that does not deal directly with Stoudenmire, this should be moved to appropriate other articles.
