A foursome match is a competition between two teams each consisting of two golfers. The golfers on the same team take alternate shots throughout the match, with the same ball. One golfer on the team tees off on odd-numbered holes, and the other tees off on even-numbered holes. Each hole is won by the team that completes the hole in the fewest shots. It is frequently used as one of formats in match play competition.
