Four-tensor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Four-tensor is a frequent abbreviation for a tensor in a four-dimensional spacetime.

In order to avoid notational and conceptual confusion, it is common to call the 4-dimensional energy-momentum tensor pμ (μ = 0,1,2,3) the 4-momentum of an object so as to not be confused with the spacial 3-momentum \mathbf{p}.
