fotopic.net is a photo sharing website and web services suite.
On 2nd August, 1999, the website named photos.jml.net began as a private collection of photographs of a British couple, Joel and Nicky Rowbottom. The system is based on a click-to-enlarge concept that lets users see pictures. By February 2001, the picture engine was transferred to fotopic.net and internet users could access the database and create a picture account.
There are several services offered to members of fotopic.net, there is the free account or many premium services that add features depending on the use of the website. The free account consists of disk space (250 megabytes) for photos that can be uploaded through the web browser, ftp or email. Inside the account a user may wish to create albums viewable or downloadable by unregistered users. Traffic for the free account is very limited though and in many cases of popular collections users are urged to buy a premium account or have their collections suspended.
