The 05-06 Varsity Football Team

Fossil Ridge currently has two Freshmen teams (Black and Gold), two Junior Varsity teams (Black and Gold), and a Varsity team. The teams play at the Keller Sports Complex, which includes an artificial turf field and sits directly across the street from Keller High School.

The football team annually competes in a rivalry football match against Keller High School in what is considered one of the best high school rivalries in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.[citation needed] The 2006 varsity game received online video coverage from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and KXAS NBC 5. In the past, the rivalry game had playoff implications. Since 2006, Fossil Ridge has been classified to Class 4-A (Keller High School is Class 5-A), and recent rivalry games are mostly for bragging rights. Fossil Ridge has won three consecutive match ups against rival Keller High School (2005-2007) and six of the all ten games (1996-2007).

In 2008 the Panthers will be facing the defending State Champions Trinity High School (Euless, Texas) during the regular season.

The Panthers are currently the 6-4A District Champions.

Current Southlake Carroll High School head coach Hal Wasson formerly was the head coach at Fossil Ridge.

Other sports played at Fossil Ridge include baseball, softball, track and field, wrestling, power lifting, volleyball, tennis, golf, basketball, soccer, swimming and diving, bowling, rodeo, cross country, and ice hockey (district-wide team).
