Thanks for understanding why I had to remove your link at autism. External links aren't forbidden, but we do look for URLs that are pertinent to the subject in a very broad sense, so links to organizations with unestablished notability or local scope are usually no-nos. I hope I can speak for the above editor in saying we both appreciate your civility and agreeability regarding this. It's a rare sight to see among many new users.
